More than 25 years of craft

A Signature Look, Refined Over Decades

Barrel & Stone Interiors began with a love for antiques and an instinct for seeing what a tired piece could become. Founder Chad McDaniel spent years experimenting with painting, distressing, and finishing techniques before developing the detailed process that now defines the Barrel & Stone look.

Today, every refreshed piece is still finished individually from beginning to completion. The smallest details matter, because the goal is not simply to repaint furniture. It is to uncover its personality and create something that feels completely at home in the space where it belongs.

The Barrel & Stone process

Finished by Hand, From Beginning to End

Every refreshed piece moves through a detailed seven-step process developed over more than 25 years. The result is a finish with depth, character, and unmistakable attention to detail.

  1. 01

    Evaluate

Every piece is assessed individually for structure, surface, history, and potential.

  2. 02

    Prepare

Careful surface preparation is what allows a hand-applied finish to last.

  3. 03

    Repair

Joints, veneer, drawers, and hardware are addressed before any color is considered.

  4. 04

    Hand Paint

Color is applied by hand in controlled layers so depth builds gradually.

  5. 05

    Build Character

Artistic distressing brings out detail, age, and the personality of the piece.

  6. 06

    Protect

A durable finishing stage protects the surface for everyday living.

  7. 07

    Inspect

A final detailed inspection confirms the piece is ready for its next home.

Furniture That Becomes Part of the Home

When we decided to renovate our kitchen, we wanted something that matched our style and had a custom, personal feel. We could not be happier with the results. The cabinets look incredible in a beautiful distressed French Gray, and the team helped us get exactly what we wanted.
